In 1992, just after graduating from high school, Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard's journey to professional success began in 1999, when she took a job aboard the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a tender for salmon by Murat Ariatn, who has been commercial fishing for over 20 years. Bossard, who is married to Aritan she has joined alliance to gain access to their respective industries. The two are proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith is a wholesale direct seafood company, was established in 2007 by Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) as well as Bossard's mom. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia following the birth of two children. The husband of the business has a lengthy history in the fish industry, which often keeps them separate for five months or more. It is during this time that they are focusing on their financial and environment goals.
